PawLife ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the PawLife mobile application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Data You Provide

When you use PawLife, you may enter the following information:

• Pet profiles: name, breed, weight, age, sex, and photo
• Health data: health diary entries, weight measurements, poop tracking logs
• Medical records: vaccinations, procedures, lab work, surgeries, dental, and examinations
• Medications: medication names, dosages, schedules, and administration logs
• Journal entries: daily notes, mood tracking, tags, and photos
• Feeding data: food profiles, feeding plans, meal logs
• AI conversations: questions you ask the AI assistant
• Vet document scans: photos of vet reports processed by AI to extract medical data

1.2 Data Stored Locally

All of your pet data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not have access to your pet profiles, health records, or feeding data. Your data stays on your device and is included in your iCloud backups if you have those enabled.

1.3 Data Collected by Third-Party Services

PawLife uses the following third-party services that may collect limited data:

• Adapty (subscription management): Processes in-app purchases and manages subscription status. Adapty may collect anonymous device identifiers and purchase data. See Adapty's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic Claude API (AI features): When you use the AI assistant, your questions are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic processes this data according to their Privacy Policy. We do not send your pet data unless you explicitly include it in your AI chat messages.
• Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting): Collects anonymous crash logs and device diagnostics to help us fix bugs. No personal or pet data is included. See Firebase Privacy Policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely to:

• Provide core app functionality (feeding plans, health tracking, nutrition calculations)
• Power AI-assisted pet care recommendations when you use the AI assistant
• Manage your subscription status

3. What We Do NOT Do

• We do not sell your personal data to anyone
• We do not use advertising or ad tracking
• We do not collect analytics or usage tracking beyond what Apple provides by default
• We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes
• We do not create user profiles for advertising

4. Data Storage and Security

Your pet data is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate servers that store your personal data. Subscription data is managed by Apple and Adapty's secure infrastructure.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights:

• Right to access: You can export all your data as a JSON file from Settings > Your Data > Export My Data
• Right to deletion: You can delete your data by removing it within the app or by deleting the app entirely
• Right to portability: The data export feature provides your data in a standard JSON format
• Right to rectification: You can edit all your data directly within the app

6. Children's Privacy

PawLife does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The app is designed for pet owners of all ages, and pet data does not constitute personal data of children.

7. Data Retention

Since your data is stored locally on your device, it persists as long as the app is installed. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. AI conversation history is kept on-device and is not retained by our servers.

8. Camera and Photo Library

PawLife requests access to your camera and photo library solely for the purpose of adding photos to pet profiles and scanning food labels. Photos are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to any server.

9. Notifications

If you enable notifications, PawLife uses local notifications to remind you about feeding schedules and health events. Notification data is processed entirely on your device.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
